Hey folks,
Well as you can all see from the opening title card it is a very exciting week around here as we are announcing the official launch of the much anticipated Electric Green® Angel! These will be available starting July 26th so be sure to mark your calendars. And as an added bonus we will have these on display at the upcoming LA Pet Fair so we hope to see you all there!
It's going to be very difficult to top that so I won't even try. But what I will do is dive right in to some of the exciting new items we have available for this upcoming week. First and foremost have to be the Red Lizard Cats. These used to be relatively common in the trade as imports but in recent years they seldomly show on lists as imports but this week were able to get a handful of tank raised specimens. I have pics both of what we have available and of what you can expect them to look like as they mature. Also keep a close eye on our socials as we plan on putting a video out on these guys very soon. In addition to that we also got in some tank raised Apistogramma Borelli "Opal". Full disclosure these are very small at the moment but this is one of the hottest selling Apistos in the hobby right now so it's all about name recognition as far as these go. And speaking of very small we got some restocks on some much needed nano fish including Galaxy Rasboras, Tiger, Indian Blue and Scarlet Badis. And what's even better is the selection of shrimp we have to pair with them. Probably the largest selection we've had in while with offerings such as Amano, Red Crystal, Blue Diamond and Yellow Fire just to name a few.
But if it's bigger stuff you're looking for then we got you covered there too. Got both SA Redtail and Tiger Shovelnose cats in this week. Now while they are technically small for now most of you know these both grow up to become true "river monsters". Got a restock on medium Blood Parrots that could almost pass for large. 4" Bala Sharks are mostly oversized. Still have a couple of monster Red Pikes. Managed to come up with a couple of Florida caught Jumbo Oscars this week. And while this one may not grow up to become a "monster" fish we did get in a very nice batch of Marble Moray Eels.
At the risk of sounding like a broken record it continues to be ridiculously hot down here and with high temperatures comes warmer water which equates out to bigger fish. If it's raised here in Florida you can almost bet it's oversized right now. One of the most impressive just so happens to be one of the most commonly found in the hobby, Black Skirt Tetras. But as I've said before sometimes an exceptional example of a common species can be just as exciting as a new or rare one. But not to be outdone the Candy Cane Tetras are about as equally impressive in size. Figures with a name like that they run bigger in the summer than when their name is most appropriate. Could be a good opportunity though to include them in some sort of "Christmas in July" sales promo lol. Also running big that could be fun to promote right now are the Red Glass Barbs. Just saw the latest batch come in last night and they are absolutely stunning. Don't just run specials on stuff you've been sitting on. Be sure to throw some items in there that people are going to be excited about.
And yup, it's Cichlid time. I'm going to cheat for a second here because the first one is not a Florida raised like I usually reserve this spot for but rather came in from Indo this week. That would be the Thayer's Dwarf Cichlid. If you missed out on these the last time we got them then now's chance to grab some. This is a Laetacara species and as the name would suggest they stay relatively small (around 3-4"). While they may not be they most colorful Cichlid in the world the do have one of the coolest mottled patterns and are always sought after by enthusiasts. Now as far as some home grown stuff goes there's no shortage there. Just got in a new batch of Rainbow Cichlids and they look every bit of the part. Medium Red Spot Gold Severums got a much needed restocking this morning. Large Venustus might just be the most impressive fish on the farm at the moment. And if you read the email last week then you already know that we were expecting some new Hap/Peacock hybrids in but I didn't have time to get much in the way of pics so I managed to rectify that this week. | Got in a small batch of Whiptails from Colombia last night and they look super solid. Limited as usual do order early if you want some. |

| Wild Bushynose are in from Colombia this week. Size is very much all over the board. Anywhere from 2.5" to nearly full grown. I recommend separating out the larger ones and price them at a higher margin. |

| Pinktail Chalceus are back after a brief hiatus. Great size with very nice, bright tails. |

| Green Neons. Perfect easy seller for the summertime blues lol. |

| Exodons came in about as big as I think I've ever seen come through here. This gives you an idea of what they look like tanked. |

| New Colombian Zebra Plecos are super contrasty with their patterns this time around. |

| Nothing pairs better with stripey Plecos than some really nice spotty Plecos. And the Colombian Snowballs are abou as spotty as it gets. |

| Apistogramma Borelli "Opal". This is just an example of what they look like as adults. We do NOT have this fish at this size. See pic below for what we currently have available. |

| This what the Apistogramma Borelli Opal look like at the moment, very small and very gray. However this is one of the most heavily sought after species and variants in the hobby right now so they will sell n name alone. |

| Apistogramma Agassizi have been here long enough to settle in and start showing soem nice color in the fins. It is a mixed sex group but looks to be a bit male heavy which I doubt anyone will complain about. |

| If you got scratched on the Guentheri Killies this past week you're in luck as we got another batch of them in last night. Don't give up on these as they are even better looking in person than in the pic. |

| Flowerhorns are very rangy in size this week. Full transparency this is one of the larger ones in the group but that's not necessarily a bad thing. At least this way they're not trying to kill each other yet so you can still keep them together. |
|
 |
| Found a couple of vats of Scarlet Badis this week. These should pair nicely with some of the shrimp we got in this week. Cannot overstate how popular the nano stuff continues to be. |
|
 |
| And is the Scarlets don't float your boat then we also have a decent number of Tiger Badis as well this week. Slightly bigger on average with more definition in the banding. |
|
 |
| And we certainly can't talk about nano fish without mentioning Galaxy Rasboras. I would be interested to see who would win in total sales of we were able to get the same number of each for a month between this guys and Chilis. Really doesn't matter since both fly out of here every time we get them. |

| Got just a handful of Barbatus Cories available this week and I do mean a handful (maybe a dozen or so). These are, in my humble opinion, THE coolest Cory on the planet. These get to be one of the largest species eventually but they're about 1.25" now and very slow growers. |

| Knight Gobies have been coming in at a pretty consistent size over the past few months and this week's batch in no exception. Be sure to keep these over a bare bottom tank or sand so they look their best. |

| BB Gobies are back. Mention these every time we get them because when available they are the best selling Goby in the FW/brackish part of the hobby. Super adorable, no one can resist these. |

| Rainbow Gobies might just be the hardiest species we see come through here as I swear I've never seen group ever have issues. They don't really require much in the way of salt but they do prefer hard water. That and some frozen food and they should do great for you. |

| Red Lizard Cats are in for the first time in YEARS! Super excited about these tank raised gems out of Indo. They are just over an inch and already look like perfect little replicas of the adults minus the color. |

| Marble Moray Eels are looking very snowflakey this time around. Size is around 8-10" and they all look fantastic. |

| One day I'll get the Japan Swordtail Guppies to sit still long enough to get a decent pic but not today. What you can't see is that the tails on these this week are about as nice as I've ever seen as is the overall size and color. Take my word for it, you need these in your life. |

| Every time Red Velvet Swords actually look "velvety" I'm gonna feature them so here you go. |

| Firecracker Swords are hands down the most impressive livebearer we get in. |
|
 |
| But if you're on a budget we also got in some Vampire Swords. Not quite as flashy as the Firecrackers but still very nice. |
|
 |
| Red Panda Barbs are back this week. This is another one of those no-brainer fish that everyone should be stocking when they're available. As adults they are not only impressive for a Barb but impressive for a freshwater species period. |
|
 |
| And if you like red then pick up some Red Glass Barbs. Yes I know the females aren't red but they're both very bright and colorful and that's exactly what you should be stocking especially this time of year. These are some of the biggest ones I've ever seen come through too. |
|

| Got in a VERY limited number of medium Bosemani Rainbows last night, so if you want a shot at any send your order in now. Last time we didn't even have enough to fill all the orders on Monday that wanted them. |
|
 |
| While they're not all this big the mixed sex Congo Tetras have some monster males in the group. |

 |
| regular and Longfin Black Skirts are running huge this week. |
|
 |
| Same goes for Candy Canes. Most Florida raised Tetras are gonna be oversized this time of year. |

| Got another batch of Blue Kerris this week. It's a purple and black Tetra that big box doesn't offer, 'nuff said. |

| Penguins are back this week. A bit smaller than the last batch but that doesn't really matter with these because people love the overall look of them regardless of size. |

| Thayer's Dwarf Cichlids are back this week. Got them in for what I believe was the first time about a month ago and they sold out in about a day. Got a few more this time around so hopefully everyone will get a shot at them. |
|

| Medium Rainbow Cichlids are already showing why they are so deserving of their name. These make great tank mates for the previously mentioned Thayer's. |
|
 |
| Got a few Festivums available this week but after that we probably won't see these guys again anytime soon. Would make for a great breeding project as you just don't see these as a domestically raised fish much these days. |
|
 |
| If you're looking for something on the bigger side found a couple more Jumbo Oscars here on the farm. These were wild-collected in South Florida, so behave like wild oscars and have even more personality than tank raised ones if you can believe that. Size is about 7-10 inches, very big. |
|
 |
| Same goes for the Jurapari. These are F0 so this is as pure of a strain as you're gonna get. Hasn't been crossed with Surinamensis types like so many other captive raised Geos. |
|
 |
| Large Fancy Mbuna may run a bit smaller than the standard Large Mbuna but there is a much cooler variety of OBs and crosses in the mix. |
|
 |
| Regular Redtop Hongi are practically medium sized this week. For those not familiar with these they are a Labidochromis species just Yellow Labs and can be treated in the same fashion. |
|
 |
| If you have a service department or have any customers looking for a show piece for their aquarium the large Venustus are always a good bet. |
|
 |
| At the risk of being repetitive if you're not sure what to get you can never go wrong with any of the assorted Peacocks. This Lwanda came out of the medium's batch. |
